One example you&#039;ve missed out, that I felt was a real inspiration, was &#039;The YORB&#039; done by Dan O&#039;Sullivan and others at ITP in NYU&#039;s Tisch School of Arts during 1993 http://itp.nyu.edu/~dbo3/proj/yorb.htm 
The 1992 project &#039;Piazza Virtuale&#039; by Van Gogh TV is also wildly impressive. Both are pretty tricky to see snipets of though, I think :-(</description>
